The shiniest of all our home-grown stars, Nicole Kidman has truly captivated our collective Aussie Hearts. From her iconic hair, to her girl-next-door energy and of course her ever-so-slightly edgy moments, (in our eyes) our girl Nicole can do no wrong.
Nicole’s often pared back beauty looks leave us guessing at what she’s wearing and more often than not what is the creamy pinky nude on her nails? Well we’re here to crack the colour code on the (recently appointed by us) Queen of nude nails (take a scroll through her instagram if you don’t believe us).
So, let’s take a wander through Nicoles best nail looks and see what polishes we think they are…

Is there anything better than a celebrity makeup, hair or nail artist spilling their secrets? We think not! For this unbelievable ethereal look, celeb nail artist Nin chose to keep the nails neutral, chic and most of all high-end. Giving us a thorough run-down of the nail look, she kept things simple with two coats of Chanel Le Vernis in ‘Ballerina’ ($48 at Myer) and topped the look off with a lick of ultra-glossy Chanel Le Gel Top ($48 at Myer).

Do we know why Nicole was swanning about London town? Nope, but we bet she was doing some big official business. We’re pretty glad she took the time out to post this carousel though, because a) she looks flawless and b) we live for a glance into ‘Nicole’s Nails’. Are you starting to believe us now on how much she really is the queen of nude nails? We’ll be taking a guess that this opaque whitey, pink shade is the celeb fave (even much loved by Queen Elizabeth). We’re sure you already know which it is, Essie’s cult classic Ballet Slippers ($15.99 at Adore Beauty).

If the celebs aren’t opting for Ballet Slippers, the shade next in line is the ever trusty OPI Bubble Bath. Why? Because what nail salon doesn’t have a wall covered in silver topped bottles? Recently taking to the red carpet premiere for her show Expats, Nicole dared to bare some skin in a very nearly nude dress. And what accompanies a dress like that? Very nearly nude nails! And as we already suggested, we think the star opted for the ever classic neutral colour Bubble Bath ($21.95 at Adore Beauty).

Now, when Nicole isn’t mastering the art of the perfect nude nail, she’s making magic in the world of reds. Is there a more iconic moment than matching your nail colour to your perfect pout (thanks to Pat McGrath)? We certainly don’t think there is. For the sake of a special red carpet moment, we think Nicole would’ve opted for a high-end pot of polish. Nicole opts for cooler tones when looking at her makeup and nails, so we reckon this bright, bold cool-toned red is; Gucci Vernis à Ongles Nail Polish in ‘25 Goldie Red’ ($57 at Sephora).
The Undoing

If we thought matching nails to a lip was a power move, we need to stand corrected. What a better way to really tie in a whole outfit than to match your coat with your nails? This is a Nicole in red moment that we’re loving, taking those cool-tones to a deeper level. Burgundy nails are a seriously chic staple, elevating any look with a simple lick of paint. So no questioning why for much of the show The Undoing Nicole’s nails were a dazzling deep red. We have it on good authority that the shade they used throughout this series is actually a super affordable one from Sally Hansen. The argan oil-infused polish is in the shade ‘unwine’d’ ($10.69 at Chemist Warehouse).
