In news that is as unsurprising as it is disappointing, Nicole Kidman has revealed that she only takes five minutes to ready her flawless, porcelain skin each morning.
Which tells us two things. The first? Genetics are playing a major role here. But also, she’s put in the groundwork to protect her complexion from a young age.
“I’m so grateful my parents were serious about sun protection when I was a child! Growing up in Australia, we spent so much time at the beach, my parents were always very serious about keeping my skin safe from the sun,” she told Forbes.
What does Nicole’s morning routine look like?
Speaking to InStyle, Nicole revealed she is strictly a “5-minute girl” when it comes to her daily skin care regimen. And let’s face it, any woman with a complexion that spectacular who can get away with the bare minimum when it comes to serums, lotions and potions, is BLESSED.
Which tells us that any products that do manage to get the exclusive call up, must be gold.
So when one of said products is only $13 and from none other than beloved Aussie brand Cancer Council, it’s a call for celebration.
While speaking of the products she “leans heavily on”, Nicole explained, “I’m not going to sit there for an hour pampering myself. I don’t like dry, scaly skin. Who does? But that’s my skin’s tendency”.
And as dry skin types can often find sunscreens trigger irritation, Nicole has found the Cancer Council’s Sensitive Sunscreen SPF50+ ($9.39 at Chemist Warehouse) to be her saving grace. “I apply it all over my face and hands,” she said.
The fact the sunscreen is dermatologically-tested and fragrance-free bodes well for those with similar sensitivities, and the formula also contains aloe vera and vitamin E, both of which are known for their hydrating and soothing properties.
So hey, if it’s good enough for Nicole, it’s good enough for us.

Have you tried this SPF from the Cancer Council? Which is your go-to sunscreen?
My go-to sunscreen is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face and Body Dry-Touch SPF 50+.
Never tried anything from Cancer Council
i might try it
I haven’t tried this one. My go to sunscreen is Nivea, any one from this brand works well for me.
Good to know!!! I haven’t tried a sunscreen before with aloe Vera in there.
Turns out! I have this at home already – unopened!
I must have bought it when there was a sale on and just as a spare sunscreen.
I am cleaning out things in anticipation for baby number 2.
I didn’t realise they make and use sunscreen!
Yay Nic! My daughter is a redhead I am trying to instill into her wear sunscreen daily. I do and I have dark hair and darker skin.
That’s why she has flawless skin!
I’ve tried this one in the past but can’t remember what I thought of it. I’m back to using a Cancer Council sunscreen again, albeit not this one.
I use the cancer council face one everyday, its great.
Which brands? I would love to know, as texture in a sunscreen for the face is just so crucual
Great SPF products, whatever works for your skin type
I was thinking the same thing.
Great advertising for the brand.
Biore water essence is my favorite. Has a really light consistency that really is clear. It is brilliant. It’s easy to find around Sydney CBD but might be harder to find in other places.
They also have a moisturiser with spf50, it’s great, I use it everyday and wears beautifully under makeup
Thankyou, I did not realse Biore was Japanese,. I also did not know that the Biore water Essence is a sunscreen? is it SPF 50?
good to know. Worth a try.
Their tinted sunscreen is quite amazing too
Worth giving it a go
That an oldie and goodie 🙂
Something my mum kept on my case about, always wearing sunscreen.
I haven’t tried this sunscreen. My skin is dry so I find it hard to find a sunscreen that works well with my moisturiser and foundation
Currently use Nivea brand. But would love to try this one too.
I’ve started using a natural sunscreen from Nourished Life; I’ve used Cancer Council before; it is cheaper
Good on you!
I need to try this one next on my shopping list
I usually buy Cancer Council sunscreens but am open to try others. Will check them out when next at the shops and needing more
I prefer to buy sunscreens with a minimum of synthetic chemicals from online stores such as Nourished Life, Flora and Fauna etc.
I’ve reported the spam by Amelia43 and Oliviahannah.
Absolutely! Me too hun xx

I used to use Cancer Council sunscreen, but they’re a bit greasy for my oily skin.
I love Cancer Council sunscreens!
good to put it on your arms and hands too
I love the Cancer Council range!
Nicole Kidman didn’t always have porcelain skin she always had a lot of freckles. But so glad that she is using Cancer Council 50+ Sunscreen.
A great brand
I don’t believe for one second her skincare routine takes 5 mins!
Same here! and that she uses that cheap product full of nasties! what a crap.
I don’t believe that someone like Nicole Kidman would use cheap & full of nasties product like the one mentioned in the article. Full stop.
Exactly and she can afford the best!
‘So hey, if it’s good enough for Nicole, it’s good enough for us.’
This comment in the article is absolutely disgusting!
I agree, and who knows, she might not even really use it.
I have been very sun safe from a young age. My Mum worked for The Cancer Foundation. I think Nicole and /or BeautyHeaven needs to speak about the injectables Nicole has had or still has, you don’t get smooth skin like that with just sunscreen, Bu hats and long sleeve rash vests. I am younger than her and my skin has wrinkles:
I didn’t know she used injectables!
Sorry don’t trust Cancer Council products, I think they are not natural enough.
I don’t recognise her with that curly mane
Yes, I used Cancer Council sunscreen.
I want to try this brand
My fave sunscreen is Beachfox. Love it!
So Cancer Council sunscreen is available for purchase in the US?
I wish my skin would tolerate Cancer Council sunscreens. I am sensitive to all their products, yet I can use Retin-A and Glycolic Acid! Sucks big time.
Definitely will try it this summer.
The only problem with this is that it’s so thick, we can barely get it out of the tube. I’ve given up on it.
I tend to go for the Cancer Council ones but do like La Roche Posay as well
