Could this solve all our wet nail struggles?

We all know the total agony of getting a perfect manicure only to smudge one crucial finger right before it’s had a chance to dry.

But now a new UK invention could end our wet nail struggles. Introducing ‘Helmies’ – aka reusable helmets for your nails.

You may think they sound ridiculous, but hear me out. These bad boys could put an end to messed up manis – for good.

Made from a light silicone gel, Helmies work by cushioning the nails without affecting the polish.

They also have an open underside, meaning you can use your phone (hurrah), fish things out of your handbag and do pretty much anything else while wearing them.

They do look a bit silly on, but no more so than those weird toe-dividers and giant foam thongs nail technicians give you for a pedi.

According to cosmopolitanuk.com, getting these bad boys on requires a little patience, especially when it comes to the 10th finger.

But a stellar DIY mani also takes time, so sealing it with this final step is still probably worthwhile.

Plus, at £7.99 (roughly $15 AUD, minus the shipping fee), they’re pretty affordable.

DIY gel manis are still an ideal smudge-free option, but for the girl who likes to chop and change colours, Helmies could be just the ticket.

You can find out more about them at helmiesbeauty.com.

Do you struggle with smudged nail polish? Would you use ‘Helmies’, or do they sound a bit too fiddly?
