It’s no secret that we love it when a celebrity shares the beauty products they use – even more so when they’re affordable.
And just like budget buys you’ll find in Reese Witherspoon’s and Meghan Markle’s skin care routines, our very own Mel Doyle is partial to a Chemist Warehouse gem, too.
Speaking to Nine Honey about her morning routine, the 51-year-old revealed that she loves the Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel ($19.69 at Chemist Warehouse). So much so, she joined the brand as an ambassador.

“The unique oil-based gel sinks into the skin and deeply moisturises, but the texture feels light like a lotion — my tip for morning self-care that gives you a lasting glow,” she said.
We’ll be the first to admit we’re often too tired and lazy to moisturise our limbs in the morning, but maybe Mel’s onto something and we should try a little more self-care while in lockdown.

The journalist and TV host had more tips for that too, saying that she still wakes up at 6 or 6:30am most mornings and kick-starts her day with a moment for coffee and silence.
She also likes to “open up the back of the house to let the fresh air in, even when it’s cold.”

As for the rest of her morning beauty routine, she also takes time to care for her face. “I use ESK vitamin C ($95 at eskcare.com/au), moisturiser, and sunscreen first thing,” she said.
A brilliant product lineup if you ask us. SPF is always a must, of course, but vitamin C is also excellent in the morning as it offers antioxidant protection throughout the day.

What do you think of Mel’s morning routine? Have you tried any of the products she mentions?
So affordable
Sorry Mel. Where are your wrinkles? I’m trying to embrace ageing gracefully. I guess she is in the eye of the media.
Got to try this! Sounds good
I’ve used Bio Oil before and I didn’t like it. I don’t think I’ll spend my money on the gel.
Melissa Doyle looks absolutely fabulous so glad that she is using products that aren’t to expensive, especially the Bio Oil Gel Moisturiser and Esk Vitamin C formula.
Mel’s wrinkles must have been fixed by all that Bio Oil and Vitamin C (or a needle?) Not that nterested in this product as gels tend to contain alcohol which isn’t a friend of sensitive skin.
Nice and affordable, maybe when my stash is reduced!
I’d like to try the dry skin gel, sounds interesting!
I would be interested in trying the Bio Oil gel
I’ve got some of the Bio Oil. I find it a bit heavy to apply as a moisturiser, so I use it as a mask. I apply to my face, leave it on to absorb, and wash off the excess under the shower.
She always looks good.
I think she looks great, I’ve not tried either of the products mentioned both wouldn’t suit my skin type.
Sunscreen is a must! She looks great!
She looks great but I’ll pass on the Bio Oil Gel.
Haha yes I like to open up the house in the morning too to let the fresh air in even in winter (if it’s not smokey from the gov’t burnoffs that blow up) but my husband doesn’t appreciate it lol!
Yes she is gorgeous and I like vitamin C too but I’ve never tried that one that she uses. Will keep in mind!
Love the look of Bio Oil Gel – I do like bio oil but the gel would be easier to use I would think .
I’ll stay with what I’m using.
I always have a bottle of Bio-Oil on hand but I haven’t tried the gel.
It’s a good price, so worth a try.
I use Bio-Oil. I didn’t know they made a Gel.
It’ll be good to see Mel on Channel Nine. She was soooo badly treated by Channel 7 Sunrise.
I’m not sure it would suit my skin, but yes to opening the back door, I go out with the cat and have a few deep breaths to start the day.
I’ve previously used bio oil for stretch marks although I can’t say it made much difference.
I haven’t tried this product – she looks good though.
I like Mel, she was great on Sunrise
Not something I would use.
Mel is beautiful, I like the sound of the Bio Oil Gel will have to try this.
Bio Oil Gel. I have not heard of this either so may look out for it on the shelves.
I thank you for sharing this much useful information. I find this resource to be of maximum benefit to me. Thank you so much for your hard work.

I had no idea that you could get bio oil in gel form
Fab ab ulous i use ESK it is the best product for me and i recommend 1-2-3-4-5 daily routine i use nothing else but this and for extra moisture during the evenings cold weather Extra Virgin olive oil.
Good to know…
Yeah, it made no difference to my stretch marks or to my scars from surgery. I do like using it as a moisturiser on my legs in winter though
I love it!
I haven’t tried any of these products but I must say Mel looks absolutely gorgeous with little to no makeup on.
I’ve used Bio oil before but not the gel
Great to see celebrities using and endorsing products that are affordable to people budgeting.
I haven’t tried these products before. but I’d image bio oil would be a great product to add into a skincare routine not sure though if I would break out from the product. Worth a shot.
Definitely sunscreen (my mum has always gone on about this, and her skin for her age is fantastic)
She looks really nice!
I love vitamin c in my skin care.But i haven’t try E.S.K.
Yes maybe worth a try at that price
Vitamin C can boost the efficacy of SPF.
I haven’t tried any of these before!
I didn’t know Bio Oil made a skin gel, I tried the oil on my stretch marks years ago but it didn’t work, but then again I’m pretty sure nothing gets rid of them!
I have used bio oil in the past but not the gel.
I’ve used Bio oil in the past. It feels good on
I’ve only ever used bio oil for scars. Didn’t realise they have other products.
Never tried the gel, but it sounds like a good routine to me.
I tried Bio Oil and it wasn’t for me
I find the Bio Oil natural skin oil very effective, maybe should give this a go as well.
I haven’t tried them before.
Bio Oil has been great for my scars, but I didn’t realise they had other products.
