Kate Middleton Just Broke This Royal Beauty Rule

We’d love to know every single secret behind Kate Middleton’s beauty routine. From her workouts and diet to the beauty products she actually uses, we’re curious about it all.

One thing we do know about royal beauty rules is that you’ll scarcely see brightly coloured nail polish adorning the fingers of anyone in the family.

Queen Elizabeth was famously known for only wearing Essie’s ‘Ballet Slippers‘ ($13.99 at Chemist Warehouse) and everyone else followed suit with nude nail polishes… until now.

Kate Middleton’s red nail polish moment

Yep, the world has come to a standstill because Kate Middleton wore red nail polish. Gasp!

The Princess of Wales attended the traditional Easter Sunday Mattins Service at St George’s Chapel where onlookers were quick to spot the deep cherry red on her fingers.

The colour popped brightly against her royal blue outfit and clashed splendidly with her famous sapphire engagement ring. Her nails were kept short and neat (as per her previous manicures) but boy did it still make an impact. Who knew we’d get this excited seeing Kate Middleton wear red nail polish?!

Before the bold move, the princess was mostly seen with bare nails. Or what appeared to be a very sheer, almost clear coat of polish. Essie’s ‘Allure’ ($13.99 at Chemist Warehouse) is said to be a close match to what Kate would usually wear.

But who knows, maybe now we’ll see more red, orange or even blue manicures rocked by the royals…

  1. Bright lipstick and nail polish was considered very low class and not something that a Royal should wear but times have changed so its lovley to see that the younger family members have more choice now.

  2. Love how the red pops against her blue outfit but clashes with her blue ring! I can’t imagine many people will be shocked by her wearing coloured nail polish and it’s nice to see some personal choice.
