You know that moment when you head into the shower to build up a luxurious lather of sweet-smelling body wash… and it’s empty? Yeah, file it under ‘one of the most frustrating things ever’. It’s almost as frustrating as when you make it out of said shower only to realise that your beloved body lotion hasn’t got a drop to spare, let alone enough to take your limbs from dry/itchy/unhappy to silky smooth and stupidly soft.
And of course, the truest pain comes in the midst of cursing all kinds of names before coming to the cruel realisation that this entire mess could have been avoided if you’d just (say it and grimace with us) *planned ahead*.
So what’s the trick to making sure your mind never fails to remind you to restock your precious skin supplies? Eliminating your brain’s role in it entirely! Sounds like magic, we know, but we’re about to introduce you to a world of wizardry that’ll ensure you’re never caught short again. Like ever again. It all comes down to three super simple steps…
Step 1: Choose your body brand wisely
We won’t lie to you; not all body care brands are created equal. In fact, some may not even factor in the possibility of you forgetting to re-purchase – rude! The secret to success lies in selecting (and staying true to) one that does. For the record, you won’t find one more determined to keep your stash stocked (and your planet-loving conscience clear) than etchðos. How?! Well we thought you’d never ask…
Step 2: Trust in those who WON’T forget
So how does the magic occur? Have the powers at be heard our cries and actually invented automatically replenishing skin care? Well honestly, kind of. Here’s the process: it’s twofold and mighty clever.
See, etchðos is determined to ensure you get all the superior skin care you need without contributing more to landfill and other icky environmental issues. So, they’ve created a clever subscription service where you select how often you’d like to refill (literally; they’ll send you a fancy sustainable refill pack instead of another whole pump-laden bottle).
And when you think about it, the benefits of a scheduled refresh will go way farther than having to remember to jot down ‘body wash’ on your shopping list. Not only will you never be caught lather-less in the shower again, but you’ll be minimising plastic waste by reusing your original packaging and cutting down on impulse purchases. Plus, subscribers receive 10 per cent off their order so your bank account will reap the rewards too.
etchðos also make sure your refills get to you (in whichever scent variant you please) before you even realise that you’re running out. For example, say ‘Summer Citrus’ is your preferred option; you’d start by snapping up a classic 300g body wash ($16.50 at etchðos) and 300mL body lotion ($16.50 at etchðos), both of which come housed in pump bottles.
Once you’ve stationed both pumps in and by your shower (respectively), you just need to lock in a subscription to make sure they never end up empty, harnessing the powers of the 1kg body wash refill ($26.50 at etchðos) and 1L body lotion refill ($26.50 at etchðos). And the exact same goes for the equally divine ‘Botanical Bloom’ scent.
All you have to do is decide how often you think you’ll want to replenish. Think about it once and it’s done! You can choose between monthly, every two months and every three months – or if you want to sample the subscription vibe before committing for multiple months, try a single order. But hey, considering you can cancel anytime, we personally vote for ‘lock in a monthly refill subscription right now if not sooner’. Your trusty top-up will last you a few refill sessions, too; considering each refill bottle is 1L/1kg while your original pump bottle holds 300mL/300g, you’ll be able to fill up a few times before needing a newbie. All the while trusting that by the time you do need one, it’ll already be on your doorstep.
Step 3: Lather and slather in peace every damn day
Once you’ve got your etchðos supply (and subscription) locked in, there’s genuinely nothing else to do – that’s the whole blessing of it! From there, simply lather away, enjoy the aromas and top up your hydration stocks in peace knowing that your physical product stock will be plentifully replenished pronto. It’s a no-brainer, really; it’s not like any compromises are required, considering the formulas are naturally-derived*, scientifically-formulated delights and botanical and citrus scents are our go-tos anyway. As they say, sustainability is going to smell great on you. Catchy, no?!
*etchðos products contain 94% naturally derived ingredients, as per ISO16128.
Which scent sounds like your favourite? Have you tried etchðos before?
Summer citrus is a scent I would like, in the summer especially.
I’ve got a big box of back ups of my staples so I never run out – I buy them when they’re on special.
Always a good idea to have back ups.
Same here Butterfly. Makes you feel good when you get products on special.
This is what I normally do too
I do that too – I stock up at sale time.
I buy when things are on sale so have a backup handy.
Best way to save.
I try to buy multiple products of body wash, shampoo and conditioner so I don’t run out! If I’m running low then I’ll go out
Especially when they are on special.
I always buy back ups and multiples when on special.
best way to go. I always have spares that way.
Sounds like we all do this – best way to save!
I absolutely love the Etch & Ethos Hydrating Body wash that I have been using for a few months now. I love how it is made from recycled milk containers. Beautiful product and feels so lovely on your skin.
Agree, I am using it at the moment.
I always try something new. Atm have these from natural beauty event. Citrus range as I like the scent better (sweet and light).
Oh that Citrus scent in the Etch & Ethos body wash is so gorgeous! Loved using it tonight!! 🙂
I got that one too! Love the scent, prefer over blossom. Shame they have parabens, but ok I guess for occasional use.
Made by EGO so they will be good quality. Am interested to try some.
I tried the citrus body wash, it is really moisturizing and gentle on skin.
I have a similar arrangement with Zero Co. I absolutely love their refillable deodorant bottle! Other products, I refill from a shop near my house. A small step to combat plastic waste but important nonetheless.
I haven’t tried the etchðos range but I love anything citrus.
I don’t use body lotion often, but I’m curious about trying their body washes.
I have a thing for sweet floral scents so i would go for Botanical Bloom. 💕💐
yes that sounds like me too
And me
I like the sound of botanical bloom . Great idea and it is great to see a company looking at saving waste.
I haven’t tried this brand yet. Botanical Bloom would be my choice.
Not for me. I don’t like subscription business models. There is also no discount incentive.
The Botanical Bloom was my favourite fragrance. I also like the idea of being able to buy the larger refill bottle in order to cut down on waste.
This Winter I absolutely love using Moisturising Body Wash and still put on a Moisturiser on afterwards.
specials are great, love never running out
I would love if they made body creams next.
I saw this in the chemist today.
I have never had the “run out” problem – I’ve always got a stash of things I’ve bought either to try or on sale.
Wow! I never have bought any products from this brand, are they any good? X
I have to agree with a number of members on this one in that back ups are stocked when current body care runs out.
I thought this was going to be an alternative for body care, like use coconut oil.
Summer Citrus sounds lovely and a subscription is a good idea but doesn’t suit me. I prefer the convenience of throwing it into my trolley at the supermarket.
Nice tips
The etchðos products smell Devine, love summer citrus.
I would love to try this brand.
I don’t really do subscriptions as I change my mind on products too often.
Brand with heaps of essential oils and loaded with fragrance don’t appeal to me but each to their own
I like the idea of having auto delivery – useful for some things in life that we just use heaps of!
There are a few brands with this idea now, in skincare and also cleaning supplies for the house
Great article thanks for the info
I would love to try the Summer Citrus one
I always have a back up, especially in the warmer months as i’m always in the pool.
Have never tried Etch & Ethos Body Washes or Body Lotion yet, at the moment I am using Palmolive Milk & Honey Body Wash it is so very hydrating my skin always feels moisturised.
it sounds lovely
I heard this brand but haven’t try it yet.
I’d do a single order and time how long to use it first
Botanical Bloom is probably something i’d go for.
I also buy in bulk when my favs are on sale. I wish that more products offered Australian aromas such as lemon myrtle, banksia rose, boronia, etc.
Love this idea 🙂
That ‘Summer Citrus’ sounds nice 🙂
I think I’ve commented on this already?
