Lavender has been used since ancient times for it’s various health benefits. A calming scent, lavender oil is thought to be an ideal nerve tonic and natural sleep aid; it’s been used in treatment for pain relief, respiratory disorders, as a blood circulation and digestion aid and in hair care products.
So it’s no surprise to learn that lavender is an excellent foot treatment ingredient. Perfect for using in a foot bath, lavender can aid in skin rejuvenation and renewal and has natural soothing properties.
Here’s how you can make your own natural lavender foot bath for soaking and washing feet:
Lavender foot treatment and wash
What you’ll need:
¼ cup of Epsom salts
20 drops of lavender oil
Your bathtub or a large, deep container wide enough to fit your feet
1. Fill your bath (or container) to halfway with warm, but not hot, water.
2. Add in the lavender oil and Epsom salts and swirl gently.
3. Lower your feet in and leave to soak for 20 minutes for soft, relaxed feet.
Tip: Add ¼ cup of full cream milk to your foot bath to help soften calluses and extra hard areas of skin.
