I’ve never been blessed with very ladylike hands. I have my father’s ‘Scottish fingers’, as my mum likes to say (as if to avoid the genetic blame). It’s true though, I’m afraid, his fingers are short and stout like mine, and it means that sometimes I’m a little reluctant to draw much attention to them.
I’ve always longed for long, elegant, silky-smooth lady fingers, like the ones very sophisticated women like to clasp their cups of tea with, and until now I’ve never realised how to achieve them. I mean, eyelash growth we can address, finger growth? Not so much.
Does anyone else suffer from less-than-ladylike hands or fingers? I’m happy to report that I’ve devised a few simple ways in which to propel your hands to ladylike status – and it’s simpler than you may well think…
1) Start with a nourishing hand cream. I know it sounds a little obvious, but nothing makes hands seem less ladylike than dry, rough skin and callouses a-plenty. Daily nourishment can make all the difference when it comes to your paws, as healthy glowing skin is just as important there as it is anywhere else on your face and body. Try MOR Emporium Black Collection Italian Blood Orange Hand Cream. The zesty scent will leave you feeling all kinds of fabulous.
2) Switch to thinner rings. I have always loved a huge cocktail ring on a Saturday night out. The bigger the better really! But when it comes to elongating your fingers, these rings aren’t great! Luckily thin rings are very hot right now, and they’ll allow you to keep accessorising – while making your fingers look lovely and long, too.
3) Keep your polishes on the nude side. Just like how black shoes can often cut off your legs at the ankle, dark polish can shorten your fingers in a nanosecond. Switch to a nude nail polish (and nude high heels if you want to elongate your legs) in order to give the appearance of longer fingers. We love essence nude glam nail polish for its super-glossy finish.
