Go the faux glow, gradually

Go the faux glow, gradually

Obviously it’s hard to convince your friends that your deep glow is authentic when it gets to a point where it’s more polar than pretty outside. There’s nothing wrong with keeping up a healthy faux glow in the colder months – and now’s the perfect time to start practicing your way to an even, sun-kissed colour.

If you’re aiming for a believable, natural olive skinned look, then make gradual tanner your best friend as opposed to an instant bronzer, which can sometime look a little bit false (or even utterly tandoori in colour – eeek!)

The best thing about gradual tanners is that they’re big on the double duty beauty, with a ratio of around 1/3 tan to 2/3 moisturiser. This means that you receive the benefits of everyday moisturising as it gets a little frostier (your pins will love you!), plus you gain a little bit of colour each day.

The other great thing about going gradual is that those products contain less DHA than normal tanners, so they don’t smell as strong. I’ll go as far to say they even smell great! My staple best-smellers are Dove Summer Glow Body Lotion, and Le Tan SPF 15 Daily Glow – plus they never fail to provide a streak-free, gorgeous colour.

What is your best weapon for a faux glow?
