As you may know, I’m a certified fake tan addict, so I’m always on the lookout for the best body exfoliator to help me get rid of my old tan and prepare for a fresh application each week. So when got my talons on the Mitten Black Medium Deep Exfoliating Body Mitt, I put it straight to use.

The packaging looks really luxe, and when you open it up the mitt is wrapped in tissue paper, which I thought was a cute touch – it makes the whole experience feel like a bit of an indulgence, which is a great motivator for when you really need to scrub off your old, patchy AF tan, but reeeeally can’t be bothered. The package also contains a little instructions booklet that tells you exactly how to use the mitt.
The mitt is designed to exfoliate dead skin cells, leaving you with the glowy, fresh skin beneath. According to the instructions, the product is to be used in the bath or shower so that those dead skin cells get swept right down the drain. I was a bit sceptical when I read that – I mean, how much skin would I really be shedding? None of my other exfoliating mitts require access to a drain! – but after using the product, I totally agree that it’s a must.
This is the mitt close up – it looks like your average exfoliating mitt, but it’s not! It feels more like netting or mesh
I chose to use the mitt in the bath, and following the instructions, I started sweeping the mitt over my damp skin in a long, sweeping motion out of the water and I was amazed at what I saw – for the first time ever, a mitt had completely removed my tan in a single swipe! I could visibly see the dead skin cells peeling away and the renewed skin underneath, like some kind of magic.
The pic on the left is with my patchy old tan before exfoliating, and the pic on the right is the after. This was after just one swipe over my arm!
Another surprise I found as I worked my way over the rest of my skin was that even though the mitt was doing a bang-up job of removing the tan, it was nowhere near as coarse or scratchy as the exfoliation mitts I had been using. Considering how much more tan and skin it was removing than my regular mitt, this was very impressive.
After I had finished, my whole body felt smooth, soft and more than ready for a fresh coat of my favourite tan. I’m definitely going to continue using it, with or without without tan afterwards, each week to keep my skin looking young and feeling fresh. It’s a little on the higher end of pricing, but in my opinion it’s excellent for skin renewal and an absolute must-have!
