Just because you’ll be wearing that long white dress, doesn’t mean you get a free pass to have hairy legs on your wedding day! In fact, it’s more important than ever to pay special attention to your hair removal routine in the lead-up to your wedding – especially if you’re faux glowing for your big day or going on Honeymoon soon after. And since you’ve probably got enough stressing you out as it is, we thought we’d make this the easy part, with tips and tricks to help you have a fuss-free, fuzz-free wedding day.
PRE-WEDDING HAIR REMOVAL TIP #1:
The hair on your legs generally has a 4 – 6 week cycle growth cycle, so it’s important to start taking note of your growth cycle a few months before your wedding. Working backwards from your wedding day, calculate when you want your last hair removal session to be, and tailor your other sessions around that. This will ensure that you’re not caught mid-cycle just before your wedding day with hairs that are long enough to be seen and felt, but too short to be removed.
PRE-WEDDING HAIR REMOVAL TIP #2:
If you’re waxing your legs before your wedding, you’ll need to do it at least three days before your big day to ensure that your legs are free from any red spots. If you’re planning on fake tanning, keep in mind that your legs will also need a day or so to settle down from the wax before you apply your fake tan.
PRE-WEDDING HAIR REMOVAL TIP #3:
The week before your wedding is NOT the time to be experimenting with hair removal. If you want to wax your eyebrows, upper lip, or even your underarms, make sure you’ve done it a couple of times before your wedding day to see how your skin reacts. Waxing these areas is perfectly safe, however some women do experience redness and minor breakouts that take a couple of days to clear, so be mindful of that as a red upper-lip is not something you’ll want in your wedding photos!
PRE-WEDDING HAIR REMOVAL TIP #4:
If you want your wedding night to be memorable – and for all the right reasons – it’s imperative that you don’t neglect your nether region. Again, like your upper lip and eyebrows, your bikini line is a sensitive area, so it’s best to get your hair removal sorted a few days before your wedding to ensure you’re your skin has settled down and isn’t prone to irritation from any…erm…friction in the area. Opting for a wax that contains natural ingredients and is suitable for sensitive skin will also help to minimise the occurrence of any unsightly irrigation.
PRE-WEDDING HAIR REMOVAL TIP #5:
If you’re a bride on a budget, or if you’ve got so much going on you can’t even think about the logistics of booking a salon appointment, then an at-home waxing system is your best option. Not only will it allow you to wax yourself when it suits you (even if that does end up being midnight one night!), but you’ll also save some cash, which is always a bonus when you’ve got a wedding budget. The Veet EasyWax™ Electrical Roll-on Kit is a hand-held, self-heating at-home waxing system that’s mess-free, fuss-free and delivers salon-quality results at home. In fact, the wax in the kit is formulated with the same ingredients as the wax used in salons and it’s also enriched with natural beeswax, making it suitable for sensitive skin. Another bonus is that the Veet EasyWax™ Electrical Roll-on Kit is super compact, so it can be packed in your suitcase and whipped away with you for hair removal touch-ups on your honeymoon, too!
