5 different uses for baby powder

Just because it’s called ‘baby’ powder doesn’t mean you have to be a baby to use it. Which I’m sure is music to the ears of all the mothers out there who stocked up years ago and then watched their baby turn into a child before their very eyes (where does the time go?).  But not to worry because the soft, white powder is actually quite the multi-purpose product and can be used for a variety of things, including these five:

BABY POWDER USE #1 Waxing

Baby powder can help ease the pain of waxing. Simply dust on the area (and then dust off any excess) before applying your wax. It will help to create a barrier for your skin, as well as absorb any body oils and moisture so that the wax can adhere better for more effective hair removal.

BABY POWDER USE #2 Running

No it won’t make you run faster, but baby powder is excellent for preventing chafe. Simply sprinkle on the effected areas before going for a run. The powder will help to reduce friction and leave your skin soft and smooth. (Extra tip: If your runners are also getting a bit stinky, slip some baby powder in them to reduce the smell)

BABY POWDER USE #3 Dry shampoo

Before dry shampoo was so readily available, I used to put baby powder in my hair instead. It essentially does the same job of absorbing excess oil and adding volume. Just make sure to rub it in really well, especially if you have dark hair.

BABY POWDER USE #4 Fuller lashes

Speaking of volume… did you know that your lashes could look fantastically fuller by sprinkling some powder on before mascara? Yep, just make sure to dust off any excess and swipe your mascara across the top and bottom of your top lash to cover any white from the powder.

BABY POWDER USE #5 Jewellery

Don’t you hate it when you go to wear your favourite necklace, only to find it’s a tangled mess? Dusting some baby powder on necklace chains can make them easier to untangle.

Baby powders we love: Curash Anti Rash Powder, GAIA Natural Baby Natural Baby Powder, and Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Dusting Powder

Did you know that baby powder was so versatile? Have you ever used it for any of the above?
