Celeb beauty trend: Metallic body art

Celeb beauty trend: Metallic body art

At bh, we’ve seen our fair share of fabulous celeb tattoos, but I’ve never actually considered copying one – until now.

I’m talking about metallic body art, a jewellery-inspired, temporary tattoo trend that’s showing no signs of going away.

Initially, I wasn’t too sure about the look, but UK singer Perrie Edward’s officially won me over:

I love this trend for three reasons:
1.    It’s not a real tattoo, so you can switch it up (and ditch it when you want to try the next new beauty look)
2.    It eliminates the need for jewellery (and you can’t lose it like, say, your beloved charm bracelet)
3.    It looks good on all skin tones. Whether you go for silver, gold or bronze, it really is a beauty trend for all.

Now, I’ll admit this is a pretty summery look – and while it looks great on the Coachella-goers in the Northern Hemisphere, it’s not as appropriate for us southern sisters, who are starting to feel the cold.

However, Perrie’s paired her blingy tattoo with a leather jacket, proving it can work as a trans-seasonal look:

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Mega-babe Rosie Huntington-Whitely’s paired her tats with next to nothing else (see below), but I can totally envisage a faux-wrist-to-ring tat peeking out from a knitted sleeve…

…the same goes for Vanessa Hudgens’:

Jessica Alba’s also embraced the trend with too-cute metallic arrows on her forearms (more like a tattoo, less like jewellery):

But for a subtler look, I also love Khloe Kardashian’s triangle-inspired take:

What do you think of the body art trend? Would you wear it?
