On October 8, Australia’s most exciting mini-festival of self-love kicked off at Paddington’s Town Hall. And for its inaugural year, BODfest certainly did not disappoint!
Presented by OGX and powered by Australia’s most loved brands including beautyheaven, marie claire and The Australian Women’s Weekly, the sell-out event saw over 600 guests treated to hair makeovers, fashion shows and celebrity guest speakers.
Some of our favourite stage talks included Aussie fashion influencers Ginger and Carmen, Moana Hope, and cancer fighter Courtney Mangan.
We know we spotted some of our lovely bh members in the crowd (goodie bag in hand!) but for those who were unable to attend or missed some moments, here are the highlights.
#1 All shapes and ages runway
We love celebrating beauty of all ages, shapes and sizes, and the runway at BODfest was a testiment to inclusive fashion. Pieces from FIGUR and Moira Rose were presented by founder and TV personality Jules Robinson, who talked further on the topic. We’ve never seen so many models smile!
#2 The OGX hair station
Is there anything better than having someone else style your hair before a Saturday night? The OGX hair styling section was always in full swing and we saw many gorgeous manes throughout the day!
#3 Inspiring panel talks
From mental health to sex and body positivity, there were some incredible conversations happening on the main stage throughout the day. Our favourite? When beautyheaven spoke to Courtney Mangan about her skin cancer diagnosis and how it changed the course of her life. Let this be a reminder to book your next skin check!
#4 The final act
If you were still at BODfest just before closed doors, your ears were in for a treat. Musician Amy Sheppard’s angel voice could be heard all the way down Oxford Street and we still get goosebumps thinking about it.
Did you attend BODfest this year? What were your highlights?
I didn’t attend because I don’t live in NSW but I did receive a complimentary virtual pass on my email and watched the content online.
How good is that 😊 I won my pass to the virtual content, would have loved to have attended in person but live interstate also.
great what a treat
I had tickets but didn’t attend because of the weather and train line problems so I watched the virtual event.
Me too @Onlyoni. It was the possible flooding of rail lines on the Central Coast that kept me away. I did end up watching it online and enjoyed all the segments. This weather has really de-railed a lot of my weekend plans 😀
Oh no!!
Oh what a pity. Lucky for vitural viewing
Ugh, the trains!!
I didn’t get to all the presentations so will watch them online. how gorgeous is Jules?
That would have been an amazing day
I watched it via the virtual pass too, living on the other side of the country means not going to anything in person LOL!
I loved the fact the people who couldn’t attend were able to watch via a virtual pass.
I live in QLD, so no, it looks like it was a great event.
This looks like it could have been a lot of fun. Did you all enjoy it?
I did not make it! Wish I was there
I really enjoyed attending this, some great talks and stalls there. Loved my time with La Roche Posay for my skin check and didn’t mind the Grey Goose cart either.
Sounds amazing!
Glad you enjoyed your day.
It looked like such a great event.
Looked like fun!
About time all shapes and sizes of models should always be celebrated. As in society, we are all shapes and sizes!
That’s so true.
I agree.
I got a virtual pass, too, but I haven’t had time to watch it yet.
didn’t attend, but it looked great online
How nice that all different sizes and ages were all included.
That looks so good! Why did I miss out?
Wish I could have gone in person. The virtual link was great.
looks like a fun day
