As consumers become increasingly aware of skin care ingredients,  the demand for products that are free from petrochemicals, sulfates, and parabens is skyrocketing. Skin care companies are taking notice of this trend in the market, and suddenly there’s a large number of products at each price point that caters for the ingredient savvy consumer. Exciting times!
Grown is an Australian brand that uses high quality organic ingredients with no chemical fillers or hidden nasties. It caters to people that want natural ingredients but also the luxury of a high end brand (think beautiful packaging, swanky website, lush textures). Kind of like Sukin’s older and more sophisticated sister.

I’ve been using their Intensive Body Cream every night for the last couple of weeks and I’m really liking it. It’s a thick cream that goes on silky and absorbs fast. As far as body creams go, it’s very moisturising; however for my extra scaly flaky areas (elbows and hips) I do find the need to layer a body butter on top.

From the luxe apothecary style packaging (I love aluminium tubes!) to the delicate rose/sandalwood/citrus scent, this product makes me feel incredibly pampered. I like feeling incredibly pampered. Please take my credit card

Grown products tend to be on the pricey side, but the ingredients are exquisite. In the Grown Intensive Body Cream, Pomegranate extract, Rose Hip Oil, Seabuckthorn Oil, and Cupuacu butter are all full of skin loving nutrients and not cheap to use in a formulation.  As you might have noticed from my frustated tweets, one of my pet peeves are ridiculously expensive ‘organic’ products that use really quite cheap ingredients, like a $70 body oil which mostly consists of Avocado Oil (Avocado Oil is a great ingredient and a favourite of mine, but to charge $70 is just wrong).

Do you like using ‘natural’ skin care? What are your favourites? Let me know in the comments!
