Simple shaving guide

If done correctly, shaving can be a quick and easy way to achieve smooth, hair-free legs. To achieve the perfect shave, every time, follow this step-by-step guide…

STEP #1 – soften your skin

Splash warm water on your skin, or soak in a bath for a few minutes to help soften your skin providing you with a softer canvas on which to shave.

STEP #2 – prep your legs

Apply a shaving cream or gel evenly over your leg from the bottom of your knee, down to your ankle. (Don’t forget to apply it to the back of your leg as well!) This step will only take a few seconds, but it’ll make the world of difference in minimising nicks and cuts.

STEP #3 – choose your razor wisely

Arm yourself with a good quality razor to ensure you get the closest shave possible. We like Schick Hydro Silk Razor as it’s designed with innovative wire-wrapped blades and a pivoting head to protect your skin while simultaneously providing an effective shave. It also features aloe-enriched ultra glide strips to help the blade glide easily and to soothe and nourish your skin.

STEP #4  – work smoothly

Working your way from your ankle to the bottom of your knee, use smooth strokes with steady, even pressure to remove your hair. If your razor is in good condition you shouldn’t have to ‘press’ it into your skin. TOP TIP: Use extra caution around the knee, shin and ankles. These areas are trickier to navigate and easy to nick. Just go nice and slow and use small strokes.

STEP #5 – stay hydrated

Rinse the razor after each stroke to get rid of any hair stuck in the blades. Once you’ve finished shaving, rinse your legs with water to get rid of any shaving foam residue and apply a moisturiser to keep your skin soft and hydrated.
