The arrival of a new season means a shift in our beauty cabinets, and spring is one of our very favourite seasonal shifts. It’s all about keeping our hydrating moisturisers, but adding in a heavier duty sunscreen and/or switching up our scents.
There’s so many categories to delve into. So, we’ve broken it down into three main spring must-haves ‘face’, ‘body’ and ‘everywhere in between’.
And while we’re welcoming warmer weather with open arms, we want to take this chance to give a reminder. Always wear your sunscreen! Any UV index above 3 is considered dangerous (we’re currently sitting around a solid 6 at the moment) so remember the old adage: tanning is skin cells in trauma. And that’s just not chic…
Without further ado, here are our spring must-haves…
Spring Must Haves
Face
Evidence Skincare (E.S.K) Ageless Microneedle Patches
We say: The countdown to summer is officially on. Albeit a bit premature, we’ll continue soaking up all that spring has to offer first. But the countdown is there, and we’re looking to get our skin in the most flawless natural state we can. Enter: ESK Ageless Microneedle patches. Okay they sound WAY scarier than they really are. Hyaluronic acid needs help to deliver active ingredients deeper into your dermal layer, and these patches offer just that, with only a mild tingling sensation (we promise!). Expect to see your skin plumper and with fewer fine lines!

The KIND Collective Healthy Glow Sheer Foundation with Blue Light Protection
We say: As the weather warms up, it’s time to crack out the sheer foundations. We’re talking glowing, shimmering skin that has people asking, “are you wearing any makeup”? The KIND Collective’s sheer foundation does so much more though, with skin-loving ingredients that maintain your moisture and even a natural blue light blocker (because we still have to go to work right?).
You say: “The first thing that caught my attention was that it contains clean ingredients which is a must for me, so big tick there. It’s Australian made another tick there! I love the texture and formula of this foundation. It is light but buildable so I use it mostly for everyday wear.” -Shali_Nialler

Invisible Zinc Tinted Daywear SPF30+ UVA-UVB
We Say: If you’re a foundation lover through and through and the thought of hitting the beach sans your face is leaving you squirming, we’ve got you covered. Invisible Zinc has an incredible tinted sunscreen. So not only are you slip, slop, slapping, you’re also stunning onlookers too. The physical zinc barrier is totally invisible and won’t leave an awkward white cast glow on your skin.
You Say: “I have been using Invisible Zinc for years and absolutely love it! It is great to wear under makeup or the tinted version is great all by itself. Tinted Invisible Zinc is similar to BB cream coverage with the added bonus that your skin is safe from sun damage. I am often complimented on my makeup when I am wearing Tinted Invisible Zinc solo and people are shocked when I tell them that it isn’t makeup but rather sun protection.” – larafield21

Chalmers Dale Essential Basics Intensive Hydrating Cream
We say: When you think of slathering your skin in a thick hydrating cream, you’re probably assuming we’re going to tell you that the blistering winter months are the main time for it. Well, sorry to shock you, but keep on slathering. The spring/summer sun beats its drying rays on our poor little faces, so it’s super important to keep up the hydration!

Neutrogena Deep Clean ® Cream Cleanser
We say: Because we’re slathering ourselves in some (very important) thick sunscreen, and are likely to be a little sweatier than usual, it’s important to have a good deep cleanser on hand to wash away the day. This BHA infused cleanser works to deeply penetrate your pores, remove all the build-up, and even helps to slough away dead skin cells, leaving your skin cleansed and hydrated.
You say: “I really enjoyed using this cleanser, I find it works well with my oily/sensitive skin. I like that it is oil free and it provides a deep cleanse and is suitable for everyday use. It is very reasonably priced and has a nice subtle scent. You don’t need to use a lot of it to get great results. My skin feels so clean afterwards.” -RINNY

Garnier Nutri Bomb Milky Sheet Mask
We say: A little indulgent self-care moment is always important no matter the season. This ultra-hydrating cruelty-free (and home-compostable) mask will help you say goodbye to dull winter skin and hello to radiant, nourished glowing skin. Sit back, relax and listen to the cicadas hum.
You say: “I am really impressed by this milky tissue mask. This variant is about 2-3 mm in thickness making it easier for me to unfold once I had removed it from the sachet. I had no need to worry about this mask ripping. This mask is well and truly infused with plenty of hydrating serum. Very milky and Garnier have been generous with the amount of serum in the sachet. I hate wasting products so I massaged the excess serum down my neck, décolletage and the backs of my hands to rehydrate my dry skin. The instruction said to leave the mask on for 15 minutes before removing. I left mine on for around 25-30 minutes because I do have dry skin in some areas and combination skin in other areas. My skin felt instantly softer!” – cityglenda

Buckley & Phillips Aromatics Pulse Point Roller in ‘Easy Breathe’
We say: Ah, spring. The birds are chirping, the bees are buzzing and the flowers are blooming. It’s a perfect allergy-inducing storm really. Instead of reaching for the medication, try the Buckley & Phillips ‘Easy Breathe’ rollerball first. Handy enough to throw in your bag, and formulated with 100 per cent natural botanical oils, eucalyptus and peppermint, it’ll work to open up your stuffed up sinuses and help you breathe again.

Glasshouse Fragrances Forever Florence in ‘Wild Peonies & Lily’
We say: A fragrance refresh is one of our favourite seasonal things to do. Getting to choose a new scent (or return to an old fave) that pairs perfectly with the weather outside is always fun. This handbag-friendly sized fragrance is a beautifully subtle sweet, fresh scent with top notes of fresh fruit, developing into a playful and lingering floral (peony and lily) fragrance.
You say: “The fragrance itself is really lovely, light, soft, sweet but not too sweet with a beautiful blend of wild peonies, lily, musk and peach. The way the fragrance is presented is excellent. A lovely glass tube with a well fitting lid so it won’t spill or leak in a handbag with a spray which goes right to the very bottom of the tube so all fragrance is usable. It is small enough to be good for handbags and the packaging is as effective and sensible as a rollerball fragrance without the potential for contamination.” – Trish_D

You say: “This is my go to moisturiser! For a while I was looking for a moisturiser that would help restore moisture to my skin and also be good for sensitive skin, I was looking for something that felt fresh and nourishing. Since I have sensitive skin this product restores the moisture back into my skin and the perfect part is it doesn’t have a potent perfume smell or any smell at all. DermaVeen Extra Hydration Shower & Bath Oil
We say: Will we stop banging on about hydration? Honestly, nope. Keeping those bodies healthy and hydrated is the key to glowing smooth skin. So, we’re taking the hydration to the shower with DermaVeens Oil. The pH-balanced formulation with added oatmeal will soothe away any irritations (and help calm any accidental sunburns) and lock in moisture without leaving a greasy residue.
You say: “I read about this oil to use in the shower after a normal body wash and it has been a lifesaver! My skin always feels so smooth and soft and even looks glowy for hours after. I have sensitive skin so am prone to skin outbreaks and irritation when trying new products, however I have been using this for almost a year and can say with confidence I have never had any irritation or reactions to the product. Another perk to this oil is the amazing sweet scent- I have been complimented on this smell hours after its use.” – VanessaJSundin

Nair Soft Natural Wax Strip
We say: Get ready to dare to bare your legs! Gone are the days of rubbing wax strips between your hands and hoping you’ve gotten them warmed up enough. These 99 per cent naturally derived (bees)wax strips are ready to use immediately and infused with skin-calming chamomile extract to help soothe the waxing pains away.
You say: “I like that there is no mess with these wax strips. No mess of heating wax then worrying if you heat for too long. These wax strips you do not need to rub together, they are ready to go. I used each side of the wax strip about twice initially and towards the end I was using each side about 4 times until the wax lost its stick. The initial stripping of the first wax strip off was nerve racking. Towards the end the pain had stopped. I was surprised that the wax strips did not cause any irritation which was my main concern. I am very impressed with how smooth my legs feel and it is a much smoother result than shaving. I would highly recommend these if you have thicker hair.” – Beautybabe140194

Reef Coconut Shimmer Sun Tan Oil SPF15
We say: With an SPF of 15+ this sunscreen isn’t strong enough as a standalone product (read below for a pairing), however, we couldn’t go past its enticing shimmering oil formula, which of course smells like a tropical vacay. Slip this oil (over a higher SPF) over your body and watch the shimmering reflections as the sun hits your skin.

Invisible Zinc Junior Clip-on 50+ Cream SPF
We say: Even though we want the shimmering glow of the Reef Coconut Oil, SPF15+ is NOT enough to keep us safe. This mini SPF is the perfect handbag size, and while it might be formulated for ‘juniors’ (read kid-safe) that really just means it’s sensitive skin-friendly. So, slather liberally and rub in well (zinc is a physical barrier) and watch as it turns clear and keeps you protected from the harsh sun.
You say: “Invisible Zinc junior travel mini is a great handy product to clip on to your work or a school bag. I clip it to my work tote in summer for my work travel. It is a physical sunscreen and is great for a top up during the day when you are in the Sun for an extended period of time. The clip on product will remind you to reapply.” – You Beauty
