One of the greatest lessons you can (and should) be taught is to wash your hands with soap. After you use the toilet, before you prepare any food, and obviously, when your hands are dirty.
I truly hope that you never lose sight of this.
But just in case you’re thinking to yourself, “eh, whatever. Water can do the job just fine. Who needs soap? Not me”, allow me to reassure you, you need soap. Definitely. No discussion about it. And here are three reasons why:
1) The skin on your hands – just like on your face and body – gets dry. Especially in winter. Sadly water, as useful as it is, cannot give your hands the hydration and nourishment they need. If your hands are particularly dry, use a soap that contains ultra-nourishing ingredients like macadamia nut oil or goat’s milk.
2) Soap kills germs. Depending on the soap you use, it can kill basically all of the germs on your hands. And when you get rid of the germs on your hands, you’re minimising the chance of catching something, or spreading any illness to those you come into contact with. You’re basically performing a public service by using a germ-killing soap.
3) Soap can be as beautiful as it is functional. Buying a hand wash that’s housed in pretty packaging can instantly take your bathroom to a whole new level. Add into the mix a soap that’s got a wonderful fragrance, and you’ll feel like your bathroom is actually a place of pampering, not just where you go to pee, brush your teeth, and clean yourself.
See? Three very good reasons. You can’t even argue them.
In fact, I’m betting you’re thinking, “boy, I need to get some right now.”

I always use soap or handwash – doesn’t everyone? Recently, I’ve been buying the Coles brand one: it’s cheap & it’s made in Australia.
I love a good smelling hand wash. I’m somewhat addicted to it. Before I eat or wash up, I would wash my hands with the proper handwash and feel great after. Washing hands became a routine that I thoroughly enjoy. Some might say I’m a neat-freak.
