How to be unstoppable this silly season

The silly season has well and truly kicked off – hooray to balmy evenings at the bar, extended cocktail hours, and late nights shaking your groove thang on the dance floor!

The thing is though, it’s one thing to be mentally prepared for a big night out, but it’s a completely different ball game to be physically ready for it. You see, there are a whole bunch of things that can send you searching for a cab when you really, reallllllly still want to be out. Thankfully there’s always a solution, and here are just a few of them:

“Oh my god, my shoes are killing me. I need to go home”

Those stilettos seemed comfy as anything when you got dressed, didn’t they? But a few hours later and those once-perfect heels feel like they were put on by the devil himself. The back of your shoe is rubbing your heel raw, your baby toe has never experienced so much pain and you’re ready to bail mid-song just so you can take off your shoes and walk barefoot home.

The good news is you no longer have to be that girl. With a little preparation, you can be boogying away until they have to kick you out. Simply keep a pack of Coverplast Blisters Patches in your bag and you’ll be more than ready when your shoes are giving you trouble. The patches work to provide relief from the pain and pressure of your high heels while simultaneously helping to heal any blisters that may have already formed. They also protect your blisters from dirt and absorb moisture, so you can be certain that your feet will be in tip-top shape in no time at all.

“Ugh, I’m having a wardrobe crisis. I need to go home.”

The fear of an inadvertent nip slip is enough to keep anyone too preoccupied to actually enjoy their night. Instead of awkwardly hoisting up your outfit every five minutes or skipping out on a night that you’re really enjoying, keep some double-sided tape in your bag. Even if you’re not wearing an outfit that you think might be a bit revealing.

The double-sided tape will help keep your clothes in place and sitting exactly where they need to be. And if you invest in double-side tape specifically designed for this (i.e. not just sticky tape), you can be sure that not even a drop of sweat will make it budge.

“Do I stink? I stink! I need to go home.”

No one likes being the stinky girl at the party. Or the self-conscious girl who keeps smelling her pits. Don’t let a bit of body odour keep you (or anyone else) from having an excellent night.

Instead, follow this plan of action: when you’re getting ready use a long-lasting deodorant designed to combat odours over an extended time as this will help you smell fresher for longer. If you’re really concerned about some late night odour issues, then it’s also a good idea to take it with you in your bag so that you can deal with the problem quick smart. Handy hint: if you have the room in your bag, take a miniature-sized body spray. That way you can minimise stinkiness and smell fresh and fruity at the same time.

“My hair is literally sticking to my forehead and has completely frizzed out. I need to go home.”

Sadly, summer nights out and most hairstyles don’t really go hand-in-hand. The heat and the humidity combined with dancing and an airless club is often a recipe for hair disaster. And we all know that if we aren’t really looking our best, we don’t exactly feel our best either, and we’re more likely to head on home.

The solution? Recognise ahead of time that this could potentially be a problem and opt for a hairstyle that’s better suited to the weather. Think a glorious giant bun on the top of your head or a slick high ponytail. You’ll look equally as glamorous as if your hair was left loose, but will have the added benefit of being heat and sweat-friendly.

Have any of these issues stopped you from having a brilliant night out? What’s your tip for being unstoppable this silly season?
