It’s all about Sam Sample (pictured left, with moi). For those of you not in the know (and you call yourself a beauty obsessive…shame on you), Sam Sample is the founder of Be Genki, the bath, body and home range that pops you on the path to holistic happiness, giving you a luxurious (but not costly) respite from the fast-paced livelihood that is modern times.
It’s all about the “genki” you see. The Japanese word means to be happy, healthy and in harmony with oneself. It suggests that wellbeing is achieved by balancing physical, emotional and spiritual elements equally to create an integrated and tranquil self. It obviously works as Be Genki has many a fan (especially in beautyheaven).
Yours truly was lucky enough to be invited to celebrate Be Genki’s 2nd birthday, held in the courtyard of Sydney store Becker Minty.
Now I’m not just using this column to gloat (although having the pleasure to meet people like Sam reminds me that I have the best job in the world), I’m using it to pass on Sam’s thanks. You see, at the event, she thanked beauty editors by displaying clippings from beauty pages in which Be Genki had featured. Being strong advocates of the genki way of thinking, beautyheaven obviously got a mention!
Sam pointed to reviews of Be Genki Tranquillity Bath and Shower Oil (click here to read the glowing appraisals) so Princess 75, your name was in lights (well, in a frame with shiny lights on it at least!).
Events like this remind me what a gorgeous place beautyheaven is to work and how lucky I am to be involved in it; reading first hand of your experiences with a product and hearing you telling others, I feel a bit like a proud parent as I watch you all interact and I love the fact that beautyheaven gives you the forum to do that.
