Our Instagram feeds are so often filled with perfectly-posed, filtered and even airbrushed photos (remember that Martha Stewart selfie?). Not only do these perfectly curated grids lead to unrealistic lifestyle expectations, they also put pressure on us, especially women, to feel as though any ounce of fat, cellulite or textured skin should be erased. So it’s always refreshing to see unfiltered, makeup-free celebs posting in the name of self-love – especially when it’s Ashley Graham.
We can always count on Ashley to keep it real – both IRL and on Instagram. Between dropping game-changing fake tan hacks and running around after her three children, the 35-year-old model is constantly advocating for size inclusivity.
Her latest post? An raw, unfiltered glimpse at what a postpartum belly actually looks like.
Fans and other A-listers were quick to praise Ashley for getting real about her post-baby body. “The realest one we know’,” celebrity makeup artist Katie Hughes commented.
“I wish I saw [posts] like this when I was younger. The impact of photos like these is substantial,” one fan wrote.
“Ladies how many can relate! NO CAPTION NEEDED,” wrote anther follower. One follower even “burst into tears” upon seeing such a relatable photo. And many others thanked Ashley for sharing a realistic body image that allowed them to see their own beauty as well.
This isn’t the first time she has shared an intimate look into her relationship with her gorgeous mum bod – and we sure hope it’s not the last.
“Like so many women, what I went through with childbirth has reshaped my relationship with my body,” Ashley wrote in her Glamour essay. “I say this knowing that I am the person who has been shouting from the rooftops to you all, ‘Love the skin you’re in.’ Yet for me, the births of all my three children threw a lot of that out of the window.”
Do you follow Ashley Graham? What inspires you to love the skin you’re in?
She always keeps it real.
Good on her, mums need more people in their corner making them feel beautiful just the way they are
I think you also need to be kind to yourself.
Love the honesty!
Me too!
Good on her.
I don’t know who she is but on good on her for being real
totally -she is beautiful but natural about herself
Yes, I think it would take a lot of guts to show what she has.
I don’t know here but 3 children are worth a bit of extra tummy
Love this!
I don’t follow her, but I’m glad she was honest and realistic with her fans.
So many people take good health for granted and worry about aesthetics. Having good health is what matters most to me.
Totally agree.
Yes good health if so important. One just cannot enjoy much if one is not feeling well.
totally agree and be happy and grateful with what you have
I love seeing posts like this.
Very honest, I love it 🙂
Got to give it to her. She keeps it real.
If I just had a whole person come out of me, last thing on my mind would be looks of my tummy. And posting stuff on the internet.
Isn’t it normal thing that skin gets luckily stretched to accommodate that new miracle? Ofcourse
absolutely Yohanna
It is normal and I never stopped being totally blown away by the size that my stomach could stretch to.
Good on her! There are so many unrealistic expectations
due to bad influencers with their filtered selfies.
I think you have to love yourself and be grateful for what you have.A baby is a miracle
Thanks to her for being realistic. The skin has to stretch so much for pregnancy. Just made me wonder what’s the maximum human skin can stretch to???
It is good to look after yourself but you do need to be real
I hadn’t been following her.
Good on her. Her tummy still looks great.
I think you have to stop worrying about what others think and value what you have.
