Burt’s Bees Conditioning Lip Scrub
“My lips have been really dry lately, and even though I use a lip balm I still have chapped, dry lips. Probably due to the cold winter weather. This comes in a cute little plastic jar with the Burts Bees logo and honeycomb decoration on the lid. It melts a lot when it’s applied to my lips. It doesn’t feel really gritty and is quite gentle. The honey crystals are what gives it the texture and they dissolve easily, then it feels like a nice nourishing lip balm. After a couple of uses my lips were smooth again.” – Lisa359

De Lorenzo Equilibrium
“My hair tends to become subject to more damage in winter. Mainly because I’m not air-drying as often in the cold so it endures more heat from the hair dryer. This is hands down one of the best hair masks I’ve used for damaged, bleached and thirsty hair. After use my hair feels like butter and detangling becomes a breeze. I also notice less frizz and overall healthier-looking hair.” – bh’s Sam

Bondi Sands Hydra UV Protect SPF 50+ Face Lotion
“First of all, I love the packaging and how practical it is. The size of the container fits perfectly in a handbag or the glove box so you can always have it with you. The thing I love the most about this product is the fact that it doesn’t make my skin oily and it absorbs so quickly. The lightweight formula makes it perfect to layer products on so makeup goes on with ease. The price point is also great.” – Dee_H96

Dermal Therapy Lip Balm Enriched with Manuka Honey
“Wow! I wasn’t expecting this lip balm to smell as nice as it does. It legitimately smells like honey – I thought it might just have a hint of it. It’s so lovely to use, feels very moisturising, and the smell is nice but not overpowering. I find it really soothing to use, especially when my lips are a bit chapped during the winter. I much prefer this balm to pawpaw ointment: although they both have a similar feel, this one is much better formulated and stays on much longer.” – eriberry

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume
“Despite being a beauty editor, I never learn my lesson when it comes to overusing acids on the face. So, whenever winter comes around, I almost always destroy my moisture barrier leading to dry, flakey, irritated skin. The Cicaplast Baulm has been a lifesaver. Every night, I slap on a ton of hydrating serums and creams, and seal it with Cicaplast, resulting in skin that looks moisturised and calm. It also reminds me to put the acids away which is always a plus.” – bh’s Basmah

Sundae x Messina Bundle Whipped Shower Foams
“I understand that daily piping hot showers lead to dry skin. But at the end of a freezing cold day, I just don’t care. And while I’m not advocating for you to do the same, I can vouch for one super hydrating body wash that actually manages to keep dry skin at bay. When I first clapped eyes on the funnest body wash to ever exist, I was drawn in by the flavour (Hello, rubbing Messina all over my body? It’s been a fantasy for longer than I care to admit). But, after just a few uses, I’ve stuck around for the skin-nourishing benefits. The shower foam applies smoothly, feels great and smells incredible. And no, purchasing all four is not excessive.” – bh’s Ruby

Fenty Skin Plush Puddin’ Intensive Recovery Lip Mask
“My lips are chronically dry at the best of times. And come winter, not even my trusty pawpaw ointment can save them. So you can imagine my relief when I finally found a lip mask that actually works and leaves my lips soft, plump and hydrated all day long. I’m a long-time stan of Fenty Skin (who isn’t) and the Plush Puddin’ Intensive Recovery Lip Mask definitely lives up to the hype. It has a jelly-balm texture that glides onto my lips and doesn’t sting but coats them in a soothing blanket of hydration and nourishment. I apply every night and it’s small enough to fit in my handbag or pocket for reapplication throughout the day – plus I don’t have to dip my finger into a pot to get to the product. I truly cannot rate it highly enough!” – bh’s Georgia

Weleda Skin Food
“My skin tends not to cooperate during the cooler months. Dry skin, breakouts, itchiness etc, it’s all happening in winter. But since trying Weleda Skin Food, it has made such a difference. It is an extremely thick consistency with a clean fruity smell that I can’t get enough of. My skin easily soaks it up, especially after a hot shower, leaving my skin looking plump and nourished every time I use it. It’s a great quick fix for dry, thirsty skin and provides a protective barrier for when you are heading into the cold or wind” – bh’s Scarlett

Gisou Honey Infused Hair Mask
“My hair is in a state of extreme thirst year-round, but something about the ‘out in the cold air, then into an apartment with the heating cranked way up’ winter experience leaves it particularly brittle, dry, and tragic. I’m buying this honey hair mask even more frequently than my beloved winter hot chocolates right now (read: a lot) – it’s the only option I’ve come across that’s affordable enough to restock on the regular but still makes a visible/touchable difference. I heap it onto dry hair (in both senses of the term) as soon as I get out of the shower in the evening, and let it sit overnight before washing out in the morning and heading back out to brave the winter chill.” – bh’s Delaney.

Carmex Strawberry Lip Balm
“I love that it has SPF in it – always valuable as I’m often outside. I do wish the strawberry scent stayed as a strawberry taste though. It’s more of a menthol taste I think. The effect of this is very soothing and protective on the lips for quite some time and that is its best feature I think, along with its gorgeous initial strawberry scent. The formula is clear and quite thick in this cooler weather. It smooths onto the lips to give a sheer moisturised look to the lips.” – clearcrystalwater

DU’IT Tough Hands
“I was surprised that the cream was instantly effective. My hands had been dry and cracked from gardening. I used the cream and the rough spots were “gone” and my hands felt softer. I like that the cream has no strong fragrance so as not to clash with perfume. Also good that the cream is absorbed into the skin very quickly and leaves no greasy residue. I tried the cream on my dry cracked heels and the results were just as amazing! I can’t recommend this cream highly enough, it does everything it claims to do.” – Lindaman

Blistex Deep Renewal
“Blistex Deep Renewal lip balm is the best product for dry flaky lips that I have ever used. Easy to apply it left them feeling super hydrated and treated. I found small lines around my mouth were reduced and my lips looked fuller and plumper. This is a lip balm that does what it says it does! I found it made a difference almost immediately. I applied it at least twice a day and saw results! It hydrated my lips immediately and the hydration lasted for hours! Highly recommended!” – dmgale

Sebastian Professional Hydre Treatment for Dry Hair
“When winter hits, my strands take a total tumble down a dark dehydrated hole. I’d try just about anything to return my once shining strands back to their former glory. Look, I could try turning down the mane-frying thermostat, but I’d rather relax knowing this deeply penetrating mask is here to save the day and my tresses. -bh’s Emma

Hemptuary Hemp Face and Body Soap
“Love, love, love. What more can I say!! Much like my soul, I have incredibly sensitive skin and Hemptuary’s Hemp Face and Body soap really took me by surprise because for once, my skin said yes (to the dress but in this instance it was to the soap)! Typically bar soaps make my skin feel drier than the Sahara desert but this wonderful product made me feel at peace, hydrated and most importantly – clean! I should also say calm because my god, that lemongrass under a hot shower really does wonders for relaxation! 5 stars all round” – timetoskedaddle

Head & Shoulders Supreme Moisture & Smooth Shampoo
“This shampoo comes in the usual thick, glossy white consistency of all other Head & Shoulders shampoos. It creates a great lather on application and usually one generous dollop is enough for my thick, shoulder length hair. The fragrance of the shampoo is divine and leaves hair smelling fresh. Most importantly, it helps to reduce my dandruff and also stops my scalp from being itchy or irritated. A really positive side-effect of this shampoo is how it helps to reduce the overall frizziness of my hair.” – Joanna981

Herbal Essences bio:renew Argan Oil Hair Mask for Repair
“I like to try new things especially when they are on sale so that if I don’t like it I don’t feel as bad about the price. I got this on sale for $9 from Chemist Warehouse. Half price. It’s a hair mask that you apply after shampooing and I like to leave it on for around 5 or so minutes before rinsing. I find that it works to soften my hair and leaves my hair manageable. It has a nice smell to it which doesn’t overly linger. And I also use about the same amount of it as I would with a conditioner. Overall I do like it.” – Izzy09

Have you tried any of these affordable winter beauty products? What’s your favourite winter saviour?
The Sundae shower foam looks so cute!
I’d love to smell the whole range
I was thinking the same. A great gift idea.
These Sundae x Messina Bundle Whipped Shower Foams look so different. They would make a nice gift for someone.
I have never seen or heard of “Jergens” and I’m going to keep an eye out for that brand. Just curious to try it. I have tried some Weleda products, including their toothpaste, they are nice but a little pricey.
I love Weleda skin foods. It always saver for my dry skin condition.
I really dont know how to use a lip scrub
Ooh i love Sundale, I hae ordered those new ones too
Bondi Sands do make good sun screens too
I cannot remember using Bondi Sands, maybe I should give it a try?
I prefer lip masks over lip scrubs.
I prefer masks too .Scrubs seem too harsh.
Cicaplast Baume is the best! I have smelt the Sundae x Messina and they smell a bit gross, a bit too sickly sweet for my tastes.
Ive got the Dermal Therapy and Carmex lip balms in my stash. Dermal Therapy is such a trusted brand.
Dermal Therapy is fantastic for lip balm
Dermal Therapy is out there with a lot of products that are good.
Burts Bees lip conditioner sounds nice to use for chapped lips
I love winter, but it’s the only time I need hand cream, so that’s just about the only thing I change.
I use lip balm a lot more during winter – it just seems more necessary.
The honey infused hair mask sounds really nice.
I love Weleda products. I use the De Lorenzo Equilibrium already.
Love the Weleda Skin Food so hydrating
My lips are so dry lol
Lip balm is a must for winter.
Although I use De Lorenzo shampoo and conditioner Ihad not come across De Lorenzo Equilibrium and it is just what I need in the winter months. Will have to go searching for it
I often hear about Dermal Therapy products but am yet to try.
Super keen to try La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume and the Fenty Lip Mask
We are now coming to the end of the winter (for my part, thank goodness) and I am hoping for some lovely new summer products to be shown.
I love the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume.
Wow we have got through Winter and now into Spring.Bring it on !!
Weleda skin food is a staple
Great to learn that there are cost effective brands. Some of them I hadnt heard of so must watch out next time shopping
I have all the Sundae Body washes. They are great and also good for doubling up as shaving cream when need. I actually use a lot of products on this list. I even love the manuka honey Dermal Therapy lip balm the most.
