How to spot the symptoms of ovarian cancer

For many years, ovarian cancer has been labelled as the ‘silent killer’ for supposedly showing no signs or symptoms in women who have the disease. But in fact, this is far from the truth, as over 90 per cent of women with ovarian cancer have experienced these known symptoms of the disease:

  • increased abdominal size or persistent abdominal bloating
  • the need to urinate often or urgently
  • feeling full after eating a small amount

This February, get the ladies in your life together to host an Afternoon Teal (teal being the international colour for ovarian cancer) to raise awareness and funds for this life-threatening illness. Hosts can register their Afternoon Teal by visiting www.afternoonteal.net.au or by emailing afternoonteal@ovariancancer.net.au.
