We all know how crap it feels when you’ve had a bad night’s sleep. But now, health experts are saying it’s not just tiredness and under-eye bags we should be worried about.
According to a study by professors at the Clemson University in South Carolina, poor sleep habits can also affect our self control. So if you got hardly any sleep last night, today might not be the best day to start a diet…
This probably won’t come as a surprise to most of you, but sleep deprivation impacts your decision-making abilities, causing you to be more impulsive and unable to focus.
“Studies have also found that sleep deprivation decreases self-control but increases hostility in people, which can create problems in the workplace and at home,” says Dr Pilcher, co-author of the Clemson University study.
Our advice? Avoid major life decisions until you can get your full 7-8 hours.
Have you ever made a silly decision when you’ve been tired?
hehe funny!
Neither am I!!
Sleep is so important! It helps us to function, stay well and ourselves.
