In case you missed this major fitspo moment, THIS is what Jesinta Campbell looked like at the recent David Jones fashion show:
And now she’s taking her fitness to a whole new level, having just been announced as the ambassador for the 2015 Blackmores Running Festival.
We chatted to the former Miss Australia about her health and fitness regimen and it’s safe to say she puts us all to shame.
You recently showed off your amazing abs on the David Jones runway – what’s your secret for achieving them?
Definitely hard work! In the lead up to the David Jones show, I cut out all alcohol and refined sugar and was working out at least once a day, sometimes twice. Consistency is key – you need to stick to it every day, not just three or four days a week. I think it also helps to have a goal. I knew I had the deadline of the runway show, and it really was a dream come true to walk on stage!
What’s your favourite form of exercise?
I love boxing! I’ve been working out with Lauren Eagle lately, and she’s been training me like a professional boxer. It works every part of your body. I’m also a big fan of Barre Body, which is good for toning and strengthening.
Are you looking forward to the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival?
Yes! I cannot wait. I’m so excited to be the ambassador for such an iconic event. Being able to run across the bridge is what I’m most looking forward to, but also just being out there with 35,000 other people! My wellbeing is really important to me, so I feel very fortunate to be part of an event that encourages being fit and healthy.
What event are you running in? Have you ever run it before?
I haven’t decided between the 9km Bridge Run or the Half Marathon yet! I’m going to go on a run this weekend and decide. I’m feeling really fit at the moment so it’s a great chance to try the half marathon, but I also really want to enjoy the day and make it to the finish line in one piece!
Can you give us an idea of what you eat on an average day?
Sure! I really love food so I certainly never deprive myself. I always make sure I eat a really good breakfast. Normally, I cook some poached eggs, avocado and spinach – yum! I’ll also make sure I have snacks on me throughout the day – something like a fruit salad. I eat a lot of white fish and chicken, normally for lunch and dinner with steamed vegetables. And I’ll often have a coconut water and green tea.
What’s your favourite treat?
Probably a chocolate bar. And a champagne!
What supplements and vitamins do you take regularly?
Magnesium is my go-to supplement. I take the Blackmores Muscle Magnesium day and night. With all the exercise I do, I need to make sure I can bounce back really quickly, and magnesium helps your muscles to recover. I also take the Blackmores Exercise Multi each day so I know I’ve got my energy and wellbeing covered, no matter what happens that day.
And then I really love the Blackmores Nails, Hair & Skin. I noticed such a difference when I started using it; in fact, my hairdresser was the first to notice. He said, “What have you been doing lately? Your hair is so healthy and strong!” So, the secret is out!
What are your top three workout or wellness tips for busy women?
– Running! It’s free, you can do it anywhere and you get a dose of fresh air. Just get those trainers on.
– Keep healthy snacks on you and a water bottle to ensure you’re hydrating throughout the day. I take a 1L bottle with me wherever I go.
– Enjoy exercise and enjoy life. When you have a positive attitude, it’s amazing what comes your way.
Now, please excuse me while I go and put on my runners!
