Calendula Benefits:

Skin Benefits:

With antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, Calendula promotes fast healing and regeneration of the skin. That is the reason why it is used to cure many skin problems.

  1. Prevents Premature Aging:

Dry skin not only looks unattractive but can also lead to premature aging. Calendula with its restorative properties, deeply hydrates the skin, heals damaged skin and makes it look younger and suppler. In fact, this herbal oil is safe enough to be used on the delicate area around the eyes to treat puffiness. It can also be used to treat nappy rash.

2) Heals Irritated and Wounded Skin:

This herb is often used in medicinal preparations to cure rashes, sunburns, insect bites and other mild skin irritations. It also soothes contact dermatitis, which is caused due to environmental conditions. This herb also contains natural regenerative properties, which makes it the perfect remedy to treat minor cuts and wounds. Applying this herb salve on chapped lips makes it softer and suppler instantly.

3) Prevents Acne:

The antibacterial properties in this herb helps in clearing the bacteria in the skin pores which may lead to acne outbreak.

Hair Benefits:

4) Gives Dandruff Free Hair:

Calendula oil is often used to hydrate the scalp and get rid of dandruff. With regular application, you can say goodbye to dandruff infested hair.

5) Helps in Hair Growth:

Dandruff is one of the major causes of hair fall. Another cause is damaged scalp. This oil can heal both these conditions, giving your hair a chance to grow stronger. Its regenerative properties help the hair follicles grow abundantly, giving you a thicker mane.

6) Natural Hair Dye:

This tea can be used to provide blonde or brunette highlight to the hair, keeping you in sync with current trend.

Health Benefits:

7) Good for Mouth Health:

Regular gargle using calendula tea can work as a mouth wash and can heal a number of mouth related disorders like gingivitis.

8) Soothes Sore Throat:

Another wonderful use of calendula tea is for soothing a sore throat. It can even be used to heal tonsillitis. The anti-inflammatory properties of calendula work on the inflamed mucus membranes to provide instant relief.

9) Heals Inflammation:

Calendula tea can also be used to treat genital inflammation and hemorrhoids. A bath prepared using this healing tea can provide relief from pain and swelling.

10) Keeps Your Stomach Healthy:

You can drink calendula tea to keep the digestive organs healthy. This works deep inside the body to treat bladder infections, upset stomach, and ulcers.

11) Fights Fever:

High fever is not a disease in itself, but a symptom of an underlying health issue. But fever can drain you of energy and can be scary too. Calendula can bring down body temperature safely, giving you relief from fever.

12) Protects from Cancer and Arthritis:

Rich in vitamins and minerals, calendula tea works as a health drink. Beta carotene found in this herb helps in cutting down risks that cause cancer, bone-joint inflammations and rheumatoid arthritis.

13) Other Uses:

This herb is also used to treat other health issues like conjunctivitis and irregular menstrual cycle. It can also improve the overall circulation of blood in the body.

Calendula Caress is not a concentrated 100% aromatherapy essential oil. It is oil infused with calendula flowers. It contains calming aromatherapy essential oils, as well as flower essences to help soothe on an emotional level. I use Calendula Caress to help soothe a variety of inflammatory skin conditions on my body, but you could use it for all sorts of things.

I had a lovely time watching this video of how they prepare the Calendula Caress
    https://vimeo.com/27557754

I love how they use Almond oil which i can use on my face.
Also they are Organic & Biodynamic.

Going to buy this after it has been sitting in my wish list for such a long time.
Now if Petal can please teach me how to use this? Got 120ml to use up by Feb 2019. http://au.iherb.com/flower-essence-services-calendula-caress-herbal-flower-oil-4-fl-oz-120-ml/16252?rcode=dtk831

    Their website teaches:
    http://www.fesflowers.com/product-info/sos/calendula-caress/

    • Soak in warm baths of Calendula Caress™ to replenish and moisturize the skin during times of winter cold and indoor dry air, or summer heat and dryness
    • Consider for calming and receptivity especially during times of emotional upset, moodiness or irritability
    • Use for any skin that is fine, delicate or hypersensitive, including children and infants
    • Apply to skin that tends toward inflammation or redness of any kind
    • Use warm compresses of Calendula for swollen areas of the lymphatic system, or for slow-healing wounds or skin ulcers
    • Employ as a gentle harmonizer for the feminine: for the breasts of nursing mothers, as a moisturizing balm for the birthing belly, and for calming and centering during the moon cycle

Should i use it like a essential oil, sparingly? Quite clueless and google ain’t helping

This is/was the horrifying quantity of steroids, anti fungal, antiseptic and the works he is/was using…. crazy huh?

Once we stopped and found the source of irritation (undiluted tea tree oil) that made his allergies worse, things got better when we combine steroids with antiseptic. Now Calendula cream. There was several issues that caused his allergies,

it must be so hard for you Petal to have skin allergies.

preciousia, I do not consider my skin to be allergic in the traditional sense. I have very complex health issues due to an autoimmune condition, chronic fatigue syndrome etc. My body is just trying to find a way to release toxicity through the easiest route which is my skin, and this causes all sorts of irritation on my body (not on my face).

My face is a bit different in that over the last few years, my face has become occasionally sensitive to a few ingredients, and nothing too extreme. For example, with the last Beautorium package, I received a small sample jar of face cream that was heavily scented which stung my skin. Some lipsticks make my lips feel extremely dehydrated, probably due to the chemicals. Some essential oils in natural lip balms dry out my lips. If I’m trialling a sample of a moisturiser that contains a few synthetic ingredients e.g. chemical SPF, I might see a few pimples the next day.

I got this calendula cream from iherb.
    Will compare against Hope’s Relief.

Hubby’s skin condition has improved by leaps and bounds. He’s been using Hope’s relief which contains 4% Calendula, NatraBio has 5% Calendula.

    Hope’s Relief 60g $22.99 at Priceline

    NatraBio 57g $6.50 iHerb
    http://au.iherb.com/natrabio-the-calendula-rub-healing-cream-2-oz-57-g/6627?rcode=dtk831

First thoughts: NatraBio smells the same as Hope’s and is very soothing!

I came across Greenridge Calendula ointment.
It has a whopping 71mg/g of Calendula dried herb.
Have tried it and it was very good too.
A great alternative to Hope’s Relief
    Sadly discontinued now

now replaced by Thursday plantation which contains double the quantity of Calendula compared to Hope’s Relief.
    80mg/g of Calendula dried herbs
    https://www.discounthealthfoods.com.au/Calendula-Ointment-50g-formerly-Greenridge-P470.aspx

The Waleda Calendula Ointment is really soothing too, it is a little richer than Hope’s Relief.
